Three weeks later I was riding my bike.
Although my hip pain was growing increasingly worse, I was hesitant to have surgery because of my age, I am 78 years old. When I learned about the new anterior approach at a seminar given by Dr. Bruce Janke and Dr. Steven Naide, I changed my mind at once.
On April 9, 2007, I had total hip replacement surgery by Dr. Janke using the minimally invasive technique. On April 12th, I was discharged from the hospital with no restrictions. Three weeks later, I was riding my bike my usual 3 miles a day. Best of all, no pain! A miracle!
