Dear Mr. Bugg,
I am compelled to write to you, to tell you about a very brilliant man in your hospital. His name is Dr. John Malloy, orthopaedic spine surgeon.
For nearly 8 years I have been in bed more than participating in my life, due to chronic and agonizing leg pain. The only time I was not in pain was when I was in bed. I was literally not functioning or participating in life any more. When I could not endure the pain, and the epidurals and pills were not working any longer, I made an appointment with an orthopaedic surgeon. After viewing my MRI, this doctor he did not see a problem, and that was the end of that. I was shocked and devastated to say the least, and scared to death that there was no hope. I thought that if this surgeon did not see anything wrong, then no one would. I was desperate.
However, after telling my also wonderful Dr. Killini, (a pain management doctor at Broward North) about the other surgeon who had dismissed me, he calmed me down and recommended that I make an appointment with only Dr. John Malloy. I did, and after viewing my MRI, Dr. Malloy showed me where the problem was, spent a good amount of time with me, and agreed to operate. I could barley breathe, and didn’t remember one thing he said because I was so relieved. The only thing I remembered was that he said he would operate.
It is now 5 months later, and have been 100% pain free! I have my life back! Thank you Dr. Malloy, thank you!
Not only is Dr. Malloy a brilliant surgeon, he is kind, empathetic and humble. He is truly my hero.
Mr. Bugg, I just wanted you, the CEO of Broward North Hospital, to read this letter, and take note of this very special man.
