The Bend In The Knee

It never occurred to me how important
The bend in the knee can be.
Whether your sit or stand, with your clothes
In your hand, the bended knee comes into play.
And all through the day from morning to night,
It could be the left or it could be the right.

To leave your bed, you have to free one bended
Knee in order to reach the floor.
But it takes the two, which belong to you,
To reach the bathroom door.
Back under the covers and out of sight
It continues to bend the rest of the night.

There are things in life we can control,
Like those for the body and those for the soul;
But after the last six weeks, it’s clear to me,
