My name is Grace M. and I am 66 years old. On February 27, 2007, I had a total hip replacement performed by Dr. Steven Naide. This was the best decision I could have ever made. No more pain at all. No more pain pills. Free of all discomfort.
It has been 5 weeks since Dr. Steven Naide successfully performed hip replacement surgery on me. Dr. Naide’s professional skill plus the compassion and caring attitude of he and his staff helped to make this experience both physically and emotionally much easier to go through.
At 78 years of age, I knew the time had come to have my left hip replaced after over a year of suffering and apprehension. The first orthopedic surgeon to whom I was referred explained that along with all the adverse effects the surgery could have, he also said that if I were to put my leg out to the side it might result in hip displacement and necessitate being in a cast for several months. When I asked about the new approach I had read about that would eliminate this problem, he said that I would have to be cut anyway and he left his office.
I tell other patients that they should have surgery because they need it; and it is a little hard in the beginning but it is soooo worth it. Especially with this new navigation system. I’m back to gardening, sewing, walking, cooking.
